RANDALL PRESERVE

Project Funders

The Project Partners are deeply grateful to the public and private funders that ensured the Randall Preserve would be purchased, conserved, and opened to the public. Now, we are relying on some new and some previous funders to help with the planning, which includes: a Resource Management Plan (RMP), Public Access Plan (PAP), and Coastal Resilience Strategy (CRS).

National Fish and Wildlife Foundation

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) was the first funder to invest in the Randall Preserve planning efforts via a grant to the Coastal Corridor Alliance (CCA). Three of the four plans have initial funding from NFWF, including the RMP, PAP, and CRS. NFWF is dedicated to sustaining, restoring, and enhancing the nation’s fish, wildlife, plants, and habitats for current and future generations.

The Trust for Public Land

The Trust for Public Land (TPL) negotiated and completed the transaction that protected Banning Ranch as the Randall Preserve. In order to support the planning efforts, TPL has funded CCA to support community engagement in nearby neighborhoods while the plans are created. TPL is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation whose mission is to create parks and protect land for people, ensuring healthy, livable communities for generations to come.

The Henry W. and Ellen R. Warne Family Endowment Fund (Warne Fund) is managed by the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF). The Warne Fund allocated a grant to CCA to support monthly bird monitoring and endangered species surveys on the Randall Preserve as part of the RMP creation. OCCF works in partnership with its donors and community by combining giving strategy, community intelligence, enduring relationships, and heartfelt intention to amplify the power of giving and its profound result: greater good in Orange County, and beyond. OCCF is a public charity under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)3.

California Wildlife Conservation Board

Wildlife Conservation Board

The Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB) provided significant funding to purchase and protect the Randall Preserve in 2022. A second investment in the property helps support the planning effort through the creation of the RMP, CRS, and PAP. The primary responsibilities of WCB are to select, authorize, and allocate funds for the purchase of land and waters suitable for recreation purposes and the preservation, protection, and restoration of wildlife habitat.
