RANDALL PRESERVE
Allowed / Designated Uses

When properties are conserved using state and federal funding, restrictions and requirements are typically placed on the land that prohibit uses other than conservation activities.

The MRCA holds title to the Randall Preserve and is bound by the acquisition agreements and restrictions. Formally, the grant deed states:

“...the Property conveyed hereby shall, in perpetuity, be used only for open space, public access, recreational purposes, habitat restoration and management...”

These benefits will remain with the land forever.

Opportunities to meet these requirements include:

A group of people stand on a coastal bluff overlooking a vast expanse of green and brown wetlands at Banning Ranch.
"Use, operation, management, and maintenance for only purposes of cultural resource protection; upland and lowland habitat that support state and federally endangered species, potential wildlife habitat preservation, restoration, and management, wildlife-oriented education and research, and for compatible public or private uses that include camping and cultural events with a special focus on access for tribal nations and members–all being consistent with wildlife habitat preservation and protection of sensitive biological resources."
