Resource Management Plan
A critical next step for the Randall Preserve is an evaluation of the site through a Resource Management Plan (RMP), which includes plant and animal, watershed, and other surveys and analysis.
The RMP includes a site description, property management details, habitat and species monitoring and management, an analysis of future funding needs, and identification of restoration opportunities. This work is above ground only, and in no instance involves any below ground disturbance.
Looking at elevational gradients, habitat transition zones, and marine influence will be captured sitewide and will be integrated with historical survey data to provide the most accurate picture of challenges and opportunities on the property. These topics inform the future work of permanently preserving the plants and animals.
CCA will engage the community, emphasizing participation from nearby disadvantaged communities in Costa Mesa, and promote public input opportunities when they arise. Public engagement is funded through a grant from The Trust for Public Land, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and Wildlife Conservation Board to CCA.
Portions of this project are funded through a federal grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, the Orange County Community Foundation, and Wildlife Conservation Board to CCA. Dudek was hired to develop this plan with support from several subcontractors.
